Peru police say two 16-year old boys are responsible for fire damage on the new turf at Howard Fellows Stadium. A small fire Saturday morning was linked to a Molotov cocktail fire starting device found at the scene. Police found another one Saturday night, but it didn’t cause any damage.
An investigation led to the two boys Sunday morning. Juvenile charges they may face include damaging state supported property, trespassing, and unlawful use of weapons. Police Chief Doug Bernabei says these may have been misguided juvenile acts, but they are serious and can’t be tolerated.
