A La Salle County grand jury has concluded that there is substantial evidence to bring charges against a La Salle resident for involvement in drug trafficking.
Luis Quinones-Pereria, a 26-year-old individual, was officially indicted on Tuesday with felony charges related to the distribution of cocaine and drug trafficking. He is currently not in custody, having been released on pretrial conditions that do not involve posting bail in accordance with Illinois law.
Quinones-Pereria’s initial arrest took place earlier this month, following the actions of Trident agents, who received information about a suspicious package originating from Puerto Rico and destined for La Salle. Upon inspecting the package, authorities allegedly discovered over 2 pounds of cocaine. Subsequently, they claim to have traced the intended recipient of the package back to Quinones-Pereria.
