Sheriff Adam Diss Releases,
On 10/24/23 at approximately 1322HRS Deputies were dispatched to the 300 block of Grant Street in Leland in reference to shots fired. Upon arrival, a female with one gunshot wound was located. It was later determined to be a domestic situation. She was transported to Northwestern Medicine Valley West Hospital and later sent via Life Flight to a Rockford hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A male subject was taken into custody on scene. Charges are pending. There is no direct threat to the public. This investigation is ongoing by the LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office, Illinois State Police Crime Scene, and the LaSalle County State’s Attorney’s Office.
