Someone at Central Intermediate School in Ottawa has tested positive for COVID-19. A letter to families Friday says the school is temporarily closed while the school personnel figure out who has been in close contact with the person infected.
Those in close contact will be notified of the need to isolate themselves for 14 days. The LaSalle County Health Department will also be in touch with them. The school district says Central is also being deep cleaned in the areas where the person could have been.
Meanwhile, Ottawa High School has extended remote learning for all students through October 16. OHS students won’t have class on Monday, while teachers have a remote instruction planning day.
