The Ottawa water department will flush water mains over a five week period starting next Tuesday. The purpose is to clear water mains of sediment and loose corrosion. The city workers also look for fire hydrants that need repairs. When they’re in your neighborhood, you may have low water pressure. And the water may be dirty until you run enough of it to clear it up.
