The LaSalle County Health Department has found the first positive West Nile Virus sample in the county this year. It’s in a batch of mosquitoes collected in Ottawa Thursday. The department tested them at its own office. People are advised to use mosquito repellant and wear clothing that protects against mosquito bites. Also, change water in the bird bath and don’t let water stagnate in containers anywhere outside.
