Some students and staff at Woodland School south of Streator are being told they need to isolate themselves for 14 days. A staff member at the school tested positive for COVID-19 this week, according to a letter the district issued Thursday. The district is working with the Livingston County Health Department on identifying everyone who needs to be personally notified.

Parents with kids at some other schools in Streator have also received a notice about possible COVID-19 exposure. They are at Kimes and Centennial schools in the Streator Elementary system. We have contacted the school district to ask for more information.

UPDATE at 11:45am: Ottawa High School is switching to all remote learning for at least three weeks starting Monday. Supt. Mike Cushing says that’s based on the latest health data for the county. A prepared statement he read Friday morning didn’t say whether any students or staff were confirmed or suspected of having COVID-19.
