ComEd worked into the weekend restoring electric service in LaSalle, Grundy, and Bureau counties. The company had just a few scattered outages in LaSalle County Saturday afternoon. Ameren Illinois finished nearly all of its restoration work in this area Friday night. A few brief outages happened over the weekend, possibly caused by storm damage that must still be reckoned with.
Well over 50% of each company’s customers were without electricity for part of last week because of the wind storm that crossed northern Illinois Monday. Trees fell on power lines, power poles came down, and wires shorted.
