 The White Sox hit four-straight home runs in the fifth inning to power past the Cardinals 7-2 in Chicago.  Yoan Moncada  Yasmani Grandal, Jose Abreu, and Eloy Jimenez went back-to-back-to-back-to-back as Chicago improved to 11-and-11.  Dallas Keuchel  gave up two runs on four hits over five-innings to pick up his third win of the year.

The Cubs lost to the Brewers 6-5 at Wrigley Field.  Jason Adam took the loss in relief.  The Cubs dropped three of four to Milwaukee, falling to 13-and-6 and now hosting the Cardinals five times over the next three days, including doubleheaders today and Wednesday. 

 

The Cubs placed the right-hander Tyler Chatwood on the ten-day injured list with a mid-back strain, retroactive to August 13th.  Chatwood was scheduled to pitch today but instead Kyle Hendricks will take the ball in Game one of the doubleheader against the Cardinals. 

 

Corey Crawford made 48 saves as the Blackhawks avoided elimination by defeating the Golden Knights 3-1 in Game Four.  Drake Caggiula got the Blackhawks on the board first. The Blackhawks still trail 3-1 in the series.  Game Five is tomorrow night.

 

The Sky cruised past the Atlanta Dream 92-67 in the WNBA and improved to 7-and-4.  The Sky faces the Las Vegas Aces tomorrow night. 

 

Jim Herman is celebrating a win at the Wyndham Championship in North Carolina. Herman sealed the victory in the final-round shooting seven-under par. The FedEx Cup Playoffs get underway Thursday with The Northern Trust.

 

In the LPGA, Stacy Lewis holed a long birdie putt at the first playoff hole and won the Ladies Scottish Open.

 

At the Top Seed Open in Lexington, Serena Williams lost to Shelby Rogers. Rogers picked up only her third career victory over a top-10 opponent. 16-year-old Coco Gauff reached her second WTA semifinal by coming back to beat No. 8 seed Ons Jabeur.

 

Chase Elliott held off Denny Hamlin to win Sunday’s GoBowling 235 road course race at Daytona International Speedway. 

 

Former Cub Mark Grace is apologizing for making a disparaging remark about his ex-wife on air.  During Marquee Sports Network’s Brewers-Cubs telecast on Saturday, Grace referred to his former spouse as “dingbat” multiple times while telling a story about how she once parked in the space at the ballpark in Milwaukee reserved for Bud Selig.  Selig is the previous owner of the Brewers.  Following complaints on social media, Grace apologized, calling his remarks “offensive and inappropriate.
