Deep cleaning is being done at the downtown Ottawa LaSalle County courthouse after an employee tested positive for COVID-19. Chief Judge H. Chris Ryan says cleaning is being done in the departments and offices where the employee works. Close coworkers are quarantining themselves. Ryan says situations like that are impossible to prevent, but the county is taking all reasonable measures to ensure everyone’s safety. Civil court cases are being done remotely whenever possible to minimize in-person appearances.
