One new COVID-19 death was reported by the LaSalle County Health Department on Tuesday. The health department says a total of 25 people have died due to the virus in LaSalle County. It marks the first reported death since last Thursday.
The county also surpassed 800 total cases with 17 new cases reported today. The county total is at 802 cases. Five new recoveries were also announced for a total of 305 and a recovery rate of 38 percent.
The State of Illinois announced 1,549 new cases for 196,948 and 20 additional deaths for 7,657. The Illinois Department of Public Health says 1,459 people are currently hospitalized with the virus in Illinois.
