La Salle Public Health Department Offers “Walk-In Flu Vaccination Available – No Appointment Needed”

By WCMY News Sep 25, 2023 | 9:31 AM

Flu season is almost here, and the La Salle County Health Department (LCHP) wants to keep us healthy. Lessening your chances of getting the flu is easy. Two actions will do it: cover your mouth when coughing or sneezing and frequent (and thorough!!) hand washing. And adults and children showing signs of “flu-like” symptoms should stay home – don’t go to work or take your children to daycare.

And there is one more thing people in La Salle County can do.

On Tuesday, Sept. 26, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., you can stop by 717 E. Etna Road in Ottawa for your “Walk-In Flu Vaccination – No Appointment Needed.” All of the department’s influenza vaccines are preservative-free.

There is a charge of $25 for the seasonal flu shot; the influenza High Dose is $60.00.

Seasonal Influenza Vaccine and Influenza HD (High Dose) Vaccine for persons 65 and older are available. VFC (Vaccine for Children or CHIP (Children’s Health Insurance Program) Flu vaccine is available for children six months through 18 with Medicaid.

LCHP offers insurance billing or cash payment. You must have your insurance card and a Photo ID with you. No Doctor’s order is required. Parents or guardians must accompany the children.
