LaSalle County’s coronavirus recovery rate is slipping downward as the number of new cases outpaces the number of people who have beaten the virus. The LaSalle County Health Department reported Sunday four more cases for a total of 413 and two recoveries for 231. That’s a recovery rate of 56%. It was close to 75% about two weeks ago and has been above 50% for about a month. The state put LaSalle County on a warning list for the virus Friday, saying the number of new cases, especially among people under age 29, was up.
The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 1,541 new cases statewide Sunday for 171,424. There was one death in Illinois for 7,398 so far. The one death is the least in one day since March.
