Bishop Daniel Jenky is getting an assistant who will train to become the bishop when Jenky retires. Rev. Louis Tylka is coming from the Archdiocese of Chicago to be the Coadjutor Bishop of the Diocese of Peoria. The ceremony is at 2pm Thursday at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Peoria.
Because of the pandemic, in person attendance is limited. People who didn’t get an invitation can watch on the diocese’s Facebook page and website.
Jenky’s retirement is planned for March 2022.
