LaSalle County Health Department figures as of Saturday afternoon show 318 COVID-19 cases so far with 213 recoveries and 18 deaths. The eight cases reported Saturday are a man and a woman in their 20s, three women in their 30s, a woman in her 40s, and two men in their 50s. There were no new recoveries or deaths reported.
The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 1,276 new cases for 160,610 so far and 18 more deaths for 7,290. The state says during the previous 24 hours, labs had done 46,099 coronavirus tests, the most in any 24-hour period. The seven-day positive test rate is 2.9%.
And there were 326 people known to be in intensive care units with the virus in Illinois. About a third of them were on ventilators.
