State representative candidate Travis Breeden says even Gov. Pritzker is calling on House Speaker Michael Madigan to resign. Breeden says Lance Yednock should join the call. Breeden, a Utica Republican, is challenging the incumbent Ottawa Democrat Yednock for the Illinois House 76th District seat.
Breeden says Yednock has received more than $500,000 in political contributions from funds that Madigan controls. So Breeden frames it as a question of whether Yednock is loyal to the money or to the people of the district.
We have asked Yednock if he has a reply. We haven’t received one.
Speaker Madigan is mentioned, although not by name, in a criminal charge against ComEd. The company is accused of hiring and making other payments to Madigan associates in exchange for help with legislation that benefited the company. Madigan isn’t charged.
