The owners of the Peru Mall want to develop housing there. A request to Peru City Hall for rezoning says the plan was always to build some kind of housing at the mall later in its development.
Because of the pandemic shutting down many stores and movie theaters GK Real Estate decided to move up the residential portion of the project.
The zoning change could be taken up by the Peru’s Plan Commission on July 15.
