If you’ve been told that voting in person this fall means voting in just one polling place for the entire county, you’ve been told wrong. The new laws Gov. Pritzker signed require there to be one place where all the registered voters in the county can go regardless of the precincts they live in. LaSalle County Clerk Lori Bongartz says going to your local precinct polling place where only your precinct votes will still be an option.
For those who want to mail in their ballots, watch for mail-in ballot applications to show up in the mail around August 1 or contact the county clerk’s office to make the request. The new laws aim to make mail-in voting an easy option with the possibility that the pandemic will still be going on in November.
