IDOT to make repairs to Veterans Memorial Bridge in Ottawa

$26 million from the state will go toward replacing Veterans Memorial Bridge in Ottawa. The project also includes a new bridge deck, utility adjustments, and other improvements. The Illinois Department of Transportation says other Ottawa projects in their 2024-2029 improvement plan include improvements to the Ottawa Port District Railyard, maintenance garage rehab, and mobile vehicle surveillance system expansion. The Illinois Valley Regional Airport could also get some improvements over the next five years. IDOT says work includes rehabbing runways through the Airport Improvement Program. $40 billion is supposed to be invested in improvement projects throughout the state.
