There could be only one trash and recycling provider in Marseilles in the future. The city council talked with Republic Services Manager Jim Pozzi (POH-zee) about this during Wednesday’s meeting. Mayor Jim Hollenbeck and Commissioner Bobby Kaminski think there are some good things Republic Services offers.
Pozzi also mentioned that Republic has a program for seniors who can get a lower rate if they don’t put out as much trash.
The council didn’t take any action Wednesday, but Kaminski says he wants to restart a committee that could present numbers to the plan commission before the city would do any changes.
