Grant money for businesses who purchased equipment for COVID-19 available

LaSalle County businesses can get federal grant money if they spent money because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Ottawa Economic Development Director Dave Noble gives examples.

The Business Resiliency Grant offers up to $20,000 in reimbursement if a business qualifies. Noble and Ottawa Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Jeff Hettrick are asking businesses throughout the county to apply now because all applications will be turned in by LaSalle County and not by each city. And when all the money is gone, it’s gone.Hettrick says Ottawa is stepping up.

Different cities will have different community contacts to turn in the grant application by August 7th. Qualified businesses must have been open one or after March 21st, 2020 and must have at least one other employee besides the owner that works directly at the business.
