Illinois Valley Community College Pres. Tracy Morris presided over her first meeting of the IVCC Board of Trustees yesterday. Morris began her career in higher education in 2001 at the college as a counselor. She was also the director of admissions and records and associate vice president for student services. She would go on to work at Joliet Junior College before coming back to IVCC. Morris talked about several programs the college is doing including Explore IVCC, Get Set Program, Kids Camp, and Coping with Job Loss Symposium. She says there are so many amazing things happening on campus. The new president also welcomed a new member to her cabinet. Kathy Ross is taking over as the college’s controller to Interim Vice President of Business Services and Finance Jim Carlson. Other things the board approved included working with the NCICG, upgrading theater lighting at the Mary Margaret Weeg Cultural Center, and entering into a building and ground license agreement with Nell’s Woodland in Ottawa.
