After a dozen applicants, Ottawa prepares for more Business Stabilization grant requests

A dozen Ottawa businesses applied for the first round of Business Stabilization grants. Mayor Dan Aussem says there’ll be a conference call for business owners interested in round two today at 5:30pm. Call-in information is available at the city’s web site.

Businesses with fewer than 50 employees may be eligible for up to $25,000 to cover certain costs that would ordinarily be covered by revenue, if not for the shutdowns during the pandemic.

The first round grant applications are on their way to the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity for consideration, following this week’s approval by the City Council.
