Returning to state waters to fish? You probably need a license.

By WCMY News May 4, 2020 | 12:53 PM

People returning to fish in state-owned waters need to have current fishing licenses. They cost about $15.50 for the ones that are good until next March 31st. Conservation Police Sgt. Phil Wire says you can maintain social distancing by getting one online. He says you can print as many copies as you want. You can keep extras in the car, boat, or tackle box in case you forget to take one with you.

The fine for fishing without a license is $195, unless you’re under 16 years old or you’re fishing on the free fishing days June 19th through 22nd.
