A tractor trailer truck driver from River Grove died in a traffic crash on Interstate 80 east of Morris last night. Grundy County Coroner John Callahan says 43-year old Brandon E. Heard was driving a truck that hit another vehicle that was pulling into traffic from the shoulder. The crash happened a little before midnight. Callahan says Heard was pronounced dead at the crash scene almost two hours later.
State Police say the tractor trailer truck hit a Jeep Grand Cherokee. The crash happened in the westbound I-80 lanes east of Brisbon Rd. I-80 westbound was closed overnight in the area for the investigation. State Police say one lane reopened at 7am today.
