Governor to consider regional reopening

By WCMY News Apr 30, 2020 | 11:33 AM

Gov. J.B. Pritzker says he’ll consider a regional approach to reopening the state’s economy. Pritzker says he want to wait until new COVID-19 case numbers start dropping.

Pritzker says he needs to consider hospital capacity for each region. Two lawmakers have sued over the extended stay-at-home order set to go into effect Friday. The modified order allows some stores to reopen for phone orders and pickups and will reopen some state parks.

The Governor is not against legislators returning to work.

Some lawmakers think they can get back to work in Springfield and still maintain social distancing and other safety recommendations.
