Ottawa Council hosting future meeting on second wastewater treatment plant

The Ottawa City Council will have a meeting regarding a second wastewater treatment plant in the city. It will be before the July 18th meeting at 5:30pm at Ottawa City Hall. The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency created a preliminary environmental impact study which can be seen at city hall. The facility plans are also available. City Clerk Shelly Munks says the meeting isn’t about where the new treatment plant would be placed, but about how much it could cost to do. People can submit written comments about it to Munks or Jillian Fowler, the Project Manager for Infrastructure Financial Assistance in Springfield.
