Ottawa High School graduation was scheduled for May 29. As this week began, it looked somewhat unlikely to happen as planned. And Thursday, Gov. Pritzker extended the stay-at-home order to Saturday, May 30.
Supt. Mike Cushing said earlier this week, if it’s still not permissible to have a full house at Kingman Gym, some other arrangement will have to be made. He wants to honor the class of 2020 somehow.
It’s possible the graduation ceremony could be done outside, but Cushing isn’t thinking that’s a good idea. He says making everything visible and audible would be hard.
