IVCC is offering a free seminar on Coping with Job Loss on Tuesday, June 27, from 1 pm until 3 pm at the Mary Margaret Weeg Cultural Centre.
This event includes a discussion on networking skills, mock interviews, financial planning workshops, complimentary headshots, information on job openings and more.
IVCC collaborated with the Illinois Valley Area Chamber of Commerce and the Ottawa Area Chamber of Commerce to create this event in the face of recent hospital closings.
“At this time, our community is facing a very critical transition in health care services and a large number of individuals have been faced with sudden job loss,” IVCC President-Elect Dr. Tracy Morris said. “As your community college, it is important for IVCC to bring our partners to the table to support our community with employment, as well as support needs. We are opening our doors in an effort to provide resources to help the community through this time.”
The services available at this event will also have Spanish translations.
