Subdivision could cause issues for OES Community Solar Project

A private subdivision could slow down a future Community Solar Project trying to be started by the Ottawa Elementary School District. The project would allow the district to save money on their electric bills by installing solar panels on land east of the baseball fields at Central School. But the district might not be allowed to go through a subdivision across from N. 2650th Rd. to get the solar panels installed. Supt. Michelle Lee explains.

It could also be an issue if the district wants to build a new storage building on the land, which has also been discussed. Trajectory Energy Partners out of Highland Park is working with the district for the future project.
