Streator mayor comments after recent shootings

Streator Mayor Tara Bedei says the city is filled with kind, caring citizens who respect the laws and just want a safe place to live. These were her comments after a second shooting incident in the 100 block of N. Bloomington Street on Sunday and the possible bomb scare last Saturday. Bedei also says putting others at risk to settle your issues is unacceptable. She says she’s tired of it and knows that residents are too. Police are still looking for a suspect in the shooting that sent a 36-year old man to St. Francis Hospital in Peoria with non-life-threatening injuries.
