LaHood votes for bill having Congress participate in U.S-Taiwan trade relations

Cong. Darin LaHood says the Biden Administration is not including Congress in trade negotiations with Taiwan. A bill approved by the U.S House Ways and Means Trade Subcommittee would require Congress to approve the first agreement in the U.S.-Taiwan Initiative of the 21st Century. It’s an agreement passed in May that strengthens the trading relationship between the U.S. and Taiwan. The Peoria Republican also says it will help the U.S. wants to be more competitive against the Chinese Communist Party.

LaHood also highlighted the U.S. Select Committee on the Strategic Competition with the CCP. He says it will expose the harm the party is doing and will help the U.S be the best trading country with Taiwan.
