Local company donates meals to students and first responders

The owner of Seattle Sutton’s Healthy Eating says a lightbulb went on when schools started asking her to help feed students out of school during the COVID-19 pandemic. Rene Ficek, who is also a dietician, realized that there are many other groups who could use pre-made meals too like police, firefighters, and healthcare workers. The company has given out 1,200 meals so far.

Earlier this week, Ficek dropped off 300 meals to the Ottawa Police and Fire departments. She says the company will continue donating meals to a new group each week.

Anyone who has a group in mind who would benefit from the meals should send an email to info@sshe.com.
