Live Well Streator is hosting a prescription drug take-back event Saturday, June 24th. The event allows people to safely dispose of unwanted or expired prescriptions, over-the-counter drugs and syringes.
Proper disposal of unused drugs saves lives and protects the environment, according to Live Well Streator.
To dispose of drugs at the event, make sure all labels are removed, or all personal information is blacked out. The drive-thru disposal will take place at Streator City Park at the 200 block of North Park St. from 9 am until 12 pm.
Medications flushed down the toilet or thrown away can contaminate our water supplies and environment, according to Live Well Streator.
