Ottawa honors telecommunicators

By WCMY News Apr 14, 2020 | 6:30 PM

During a special meeting Tuesday, the Ottawa City Council honored the people who take calls at 911 centers. Jacqueline Boyer and Emily Rubio received certificates at City Hall for their work as telecommunicators in Ottawa. They are just two of the people who help figure out where to send police, fire trucks, or ambulances and also get messages back from those emergency personnel about whatever situations they’re in. This is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.
