Streator planning for future Streator High School soccer fields

Streator High School wants to use different fields for its soccer team. The district wants to turn the north field of James Street Park and the softball field into soccer fields. They’re working with the city but will have to pay for redoing the fields. City Manager David Plyman (PLEYE-man) says the fields need some improvements including new sprinklers. A light pole also needs to be moved. The fields could be ready by this fall if an intergovernmental agreement is formed between the city and the school district.
