Fire damages home west of Ottawa

By WCMY News Apr 10, 2020 | 9:46 AM

No one was hurt during a fire at a home west of Ottawa yesterday afternoon. Wallace Fire Chief Dave Parrot says there’s fire damage in the basement, on the first floor, and in the attic.

Several fire departments helped for about three hours. Ottawa, Utica, Marseilles, Grand Ridge, and Serena fire fighters were on the scene. Oglesby’s fire department manned the Wallace fire station during the incident.

Parrot says the home’s residents weren’t home. The fire could have been caused by an electrical problem, but it’s still under investigation.
