Oglesby looking to buy new tanker truck for fire department

The city of Oglesby wants to take advantage of getting a new water taker truck for the fire department. The $432,000 truck will be brand new and will hold 3,000 gallons of water. Commissioner Terry Eutis says the city is getting help paying for it.

He says the city will pay for this over the next ten to fifteen years. Eutis says the old tanker truck the fire department has will be given to the group building the new one to be sold. The tanker truck, or tender truck as it’s called now, is used to haul water to areas that don’t have fire hydrants during fires.
