Streator Police need help in investigating second homicide

Streator Police are investigating their second homicide in a month. Deputy Police Chief Robert Wood says a 33-year old man was found shot to death in the 400 block of N. Everett St. Sunday afternoon. Police are asking anyone who lives in the area with home surveillance to look through it to see if it could help with the investigation. A silver or gray four-door sedan is considered a vehicle of interest in the case. The make and model isn’t known. Anyone with information is asked to call the police department at 815-844-0911. Wood says it was an isolated incident and there is no known threat to the public. The victim will be named after the man’s family is notified. Streator Police are also getting help from the LaSalle County State’s Attorney’s Office, Illinois State Police, LaSalle County Sheriff’s Deputies, and the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department.
