Construction on the $2.4 million roundabout project north of Utica is wrapping up The Illinois Department of Transportation says it started May last year but it took longer than expected to get it done. The department had said the project should be done by fall last year. The intersection of U.S. 6 and Illinois 178 was a four-way stop and also had traffic lights during the summer last year while construction was underway. IDOT says the roundabout is a safer, more efficient way to travel to Starved Rock State Park and other area attractions.
