An early morning house fire has made a home on Franklin Ave. in Ottawa unlivable. Ottawa Fire Chief Brian Bressner says the department was called at 5:15 this morning for a kitchen fire at the home. Police arrived first and found heavy smoke and fire coming through the roof. Bressner says the fire department got to the home and found fire in the kitchen ceiling extending into th attic space of the whole house. The department was able to get it out although there is heavy smoke, heat, and water damage to the inside of the home and the roof. He says a ceiling lighting fixture was the cause of the fire starting but it accidental.
Behind the window there is severe damage to the kitchen area.
