Woman allegedly involved in fatal shooting last month makes first court apperance

One of the two allegedly involved in a shooting that killed a 35-year old woman had her first court appearance Tuesday. 36-year old Rachel Carter of Streator is now being represented by the public defender’s office. Her alleged accomplice 29-year old Malcolm J. Whitfield hasn’t had his first court date yet. Carter’s next court date is June 8th. She’s only been charged with felony possession of a firearm. She’s still in jail on a $750,000 bond.
