St. Rep. Davis calls for ethics reform after spring legislative session go beyond end date

St. Rep. Jed Davis is calling for common sense ethical reform after the Illinois General Assembly’s spring legislative session ended without passing the state’s budget. Davis says Illinois Democrats are being deceitful as they are unable to resolve their own dysfunction. He also says Republicans have continuously been left out of the budget and drafting discussions and never find out what’s in the bill until a few hours before a vote. The Yorkville Republican claims that any attempt at ethical reform dies in a committee and one has to wonder why there is such resistance from the majority party. He says he’s urging colleagues on the other side of the aisle who are fed up to step up and make room for other voices at the table. Democrats say that they’ve asked Republicans to join them in helping with the budget.
