Two people allegedly involved in the fatal shooting of a 35-year old woman in Streator were arrested in Memphis, TN. 29-year old Malcolm J. Whitfield and 36-year old Rachael N. Carter of Streator are currently in the Shelby County Jail. Right now, Whitfield is charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm and Carter is charged with possession of a weapon by a felon. No murder charges have been filed. Both will have to be brought back to LaSalle County from Memphis. Police were called to the 100 block of W. Hickory St. last Saturday after three people were shot. The other two people were taken to different hospitals for their injuries.
