Stamp Out Hunger food drive is this Saturday

By WCMY News May 11, 2023 | 4:38 PM

The Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive returns this Saturday. It’s a day for people to give nonperishable food items to their local postal worker so they can be donated to their local food pantry. Postal Worker Michael Scheib says the food items should be left in a bag next to the mailbox. He also says don’t put any of the food items inside the mailbox.

If you don’t want to donate food, Scheib says you can bring a check or cash to your local food pantries. Over a billion pounds of food are collected nationwide during the event, which makes is the largest yearly food drive in the US. Scheib spoke with Jay LeSeure on our WCMY morning program.
