Yesterday was the 35th annual Regional Office of Education Excellence in Education Program at the Knights of Columbus in Ottawa. LaSalle, Marshall, and Putnam counties Regional Supt. of Schools Chris Dvorak says it was special since the office is known at ROE 35. The event was throughout the entire hall and there was room for outdoor tables as well because of the weather. Hundreds of awards were given out again to teachers, school board members, and others in the school district that do great work in their district. Dvorak says schools are trying to get students back to a more normal school schedule while also going further beyond making sure they have the chance to participate in sports and enjoy events like the prom.
The regional office will continue to recognize teachers outside of the event on their Youtube page through their short documentaries. Previously they followed teachers in schools. But Dvorak says they are doing something a little different this year
