A Streator man wants to represent himself in his aggravated battery with a firearm case. 24-year old Alex Brown is accused of shooting a 27-year old man in the lower part of his body last month. He pleaded not guilty Thursday in Judge H. Chris Ryan’s Courtroom. Ryan says Brown has the absolute right to represent himself, but he has to do a lot of legal work to do. Brown’s next court date is scheduled for July 13th. His trial has been set for July 24th. 31-year old Niesha Rodriguez, who’s been charged with of obstruction of justice in the case, will be in court Friday.
