Multiple fire departments called for porch fire south of Peru

A home was saved from going up in flames after a porch caught fire south of Peru. The Standard Fire Department says they were called to the 2400 block of 150th Rd. Wednesday afternoon. When they arrived they found the fire in the porch and the home had received some smoke damage. They put the fire out quickly. A pet bird was also rescued from the home. No one was hurt.
