Two new commissioners were sworn in at the Marseilles City Council meeting last night. Melissa Small is the city’s new Commissioner for Public Health and Safety and Michael Scheib is the city’s new Commissioner for Streets and Improvements. Small says she ran for city council because she wants to be an extension and voice for the city’s residents.

Scheib says he’s happy to be the streets and improvement commissioner.

Commissioners Nathan Schaefer and Gary Lewey left the council last night thanking the city and its residents.

Gary Lewey:

Nathan Schafer:

Mayor Jim Hollenbeck is starting his second elected term after he ran unopposed in the April consolidated election. He was appointed mayor in 2018 and then ran for the job in the last two elections. Commissioners Bobby Kaminski will keep his job as finance commissioner and Jim Buckingham is still Commissioner of Public Property.
