The city of Peru’s mayor seems hesitant about allowing more Airbnb’s in the city. Mayor Ken Kolowski says four Airbnb’s in the city are operating illegally. An Airbnb is a house or apartment that people who are traveling can stay at instead of renting a hotel room. The city council tabled an ordinance earlier this week that would allow a person to have an Airbnb on Center Pl. Mayor Ken Kolowski wants the city’s aldermen to do their research and ask their constituents about them before the council allows any more in the city. He says there are pros and cons with Airbnb’s, although he didn’t give an specific examples.

Alderman Mike Sapienza says there is one good question to ask.

Kolowski also says there are six beautiful hotels in the city already.
